Our participant population is as diverse
as the metropolitan Washington D.C. area we serve. People of all
faiths and ethnic groups attend the Misler Center, and people come
to us from a variety of settings. Some live with spouses, others
with adult children, alone, in group homes or assisted living
facilities.
Participants and their families choose the Misler Center to meet a
variety of social and physical needs. Indeed, we believe it is as
important to nourish the spirit of our participants as it is to
nurture their health.
Our participants are older adults who may be:
-
Socially isolated
-
Dealing with medical, cognitive or
emotional issues
-
Dependent
on others for care, activity or transportation, but who want to
remain as independent as possible and avoid an institutional
setting
-
Able to benefit from regular health
supervision
For people dealing with one or more of
these challenges, the Misler Center provides a physically and
socially invigorating experience.
