Volunteering
The Misler Center welcomes family
members and others of all ages who would like to donate their time
and expertise to the Center. Volunteers at Misler present programs
on special topics, provide musical and cultural entertainment, help
serve lunch, lead regular weekly programs, and even bring their pets
for therapeutic visits! Whether helping one day a week, a month or a
year, Misler volunteers help make a difference in the lives of our
participants. Community Service hours for high school students may
be arranged.
If you are interested in volunteering at Misler Center, call
301-468-1740.
Gifting
Many caring family members and friends
have supported the Misler Adult Day Center and other essential
programs of the Jewish Council for the Aging. We thank them all!
Their tax-deductible gifts to program
operations
or perpetual endowment enable us to serve people in need -- people
of all faiths and from all walks of life.
To make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one (or anonymously as
you direct), please contact Bruce Kipnis at (301) 255-4226 or
bkipnis@accessjca.org. And
please read about our "Continuing a Proud Legacy, Creating a New
Future" campaign by clicking on the brochure pictured here. (PDF)

Each contribution or remittance of payment by check is considered authorization to convert that particular check into an electronic fund transfer. If your check is unable to be converted, it may be processed as a Check Replacement Document drawn against your account. When we use information from your check to make an electronic fund transfer, funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the same day you make your payment, and you will not receive your check back from your financial institution. You have the right to opt out of Electronic Conversion. If you choose to exercise this right, write the words ‘Opt Out’ in the memo field of your check and JCA will process it as a draft against your account.
The Misler Adult Day
Center is a program of the Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater
Washington, a charitable institution. JCA fundraises in Washington,
D.C., Maryland and Virginia to support its mission of enabling older
people in the Greater Washington, D.C. area to remain in the homes
of their choice and in life's mainstream as long and as
independently as possible. A copy of JCA's current financial
statement is available upon request by contacting the JCA itself at the address or telephone numbers that appear
at the bottom of this page. Documents and information submitted to
the State of Maryland under the Maryland Charitable Solicitations
Act are available from the Maryland Secretary of State's Office,
State House, Annapolis, MD 21401 for the cost of copying and
postage. A financial report is available from the Virginia State
Division of Consumer Affairs, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, VA 23209. JCA
also is registered with the District of Columbia Department of
Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, P.O. Box 92300, Washington, DC
20090-3020. As is true for all charities, however, registration by
these governmental organizations does not imply their endorsement. A
copy of JCA's IRS 990 is available for public inspection at JCA's
headquarters office at 12320 Parklawn Dr., Rockville, MD 20852 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday (except
holidays), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
